Brothers Chuck and Frank Cramer founded Cramer Products in 1918 when they began selling their homemade athletic liniment to coaches. Cramer Chemical Co. was born right there in their mom’s kitchen, and so was the field of sports medicine.
Chuck and Frank propelled the company forward through hard work, integrity, and a commitment to product innovation. Almost a century later, Cramer remains true to these roots and Cramer headquarters still sits on the footprint of the first Cramer building in Gardner, Kansas.
Cramer Products has led the sports medicine industry for nearly 95 years. From Cramer days of educating the first athletic trainers to proudly founding the National Athletic Trainer’s Association, which Cramer still support today, Cramer carries on the innovative ideals of Cramer founders.
Cramer use the most advanced materials and science available to create products designed by athletic trainers for athletic trainers. In fact, many of Cramer here at Cramer are certified athletic trainers. So it’s no surprise that Cramer products meet the needs of athletic trainers, sports medicine clinicians, and athletes of all ages and skill levels.
In recent years, Cramer enhanced its growth and diversification through several acquisitions. In 2004, Cosom Sporting Goods was acquired, increasing Cramer’s line of physical education products. In 2008, Cramer acquired Active Ankle Systems, Inc., a leading supplier of braces and supports. And the newest member of the Cramer family was acquired in June 2011–Stromgren Athletics, a leader in compression and protective performance apparel.
